Welcome to CGNPG College

Cane Grower’s Nehru Post Graduate College was established in the remembrance of our first Prime Minister Pt. Jawahar Lal Nehru in July 1968 by the Co-Operative Cane Society of Gola. Initially the college had limited resources of educating people in this rural area but with the joint efforts of committee members today it has its own building with good infrastructure, well equipped class rooms, labs, rich library and a huge ground for sports.

The college is affiliated to Lucknow University, Lucknow and is well known for imparting high-quality education, developing life skills and transparency in examinations. There are approximately 3000 students from various disciplines. The college offers Under Graduate and Post Graduate courses in the field of Arts, Humanities and Social Science.

Various Diploma and Degree Programs, Certificate courses are offered under distant learning mode of Indira Gandhi National Open University and Uttar Pradesh Rajarshi Tondon Open University. Remedial sessions and regular consultation classes are also held for the learners of distant mode.

Keeping in mind the growth of physical skills, we offer excellent training of indoor and outdoor sports. Such as Chess, Table Tennis, Badminton, Cricket & Hockey. The college has credit of organizing Inter Collegiate Women Hockey Tournament. .

The broad philosophy of college is to provide holistic education and produce well versed youth for nation. Thus, the college plays a pivotal role in transforming lives of young generation to face the challenges of tomorrow and to make them humane.

We wish our students to dive in the ocean of Knowledge by using innovative teaching pedagogies and learning methodologies, at the same time crossing the barriers/boundaries of caste, creed, race & other social evils prevalent in the society. Our purpose is to make them realize their significant role and contribution in serving their organization, their society as well as humanity. By engaging them in social activities we make them understand their worth in shaping of nation. The success of country depends upon the success of its youth. So, we create well educated, disciplined and responsible intellectuals who know the utilization of human capabilities for the progress of country.

This reinforcement of cultural values and moral principles help to mould the lives of our students and make them perfect in ‘Art of Living’.

Simultaneously our focus is on maintaining mental and physical equilibrium to ensure student’s active participation in all kinds of extra curricular and sports activities.
